Getting started

What is Bayanat?

Bayanat is an eSIM app that gives you mobile data in 190+ countries without buying a physical SIM. Pick a plan, scan a QR code, and you're online in minutes — typically far cheaper than paying carrier roaming rates abroad.

How do I install an eSIM?

Download the Bayanat app, buy a plan, then install from the in-app QR (or Settings → Add eSIM). Step-by-step with screenshots: /how-to/install-iphone/ for iPhone and /how-to/install-android/ for Android. Most users finish in about two minutes. Install before you fly — the plan usually activates when you connect at your destination.

When should I install the eSIM?

Install before you travel on home Wi‑Fi. You only need internet to download the profile. Keep the line off or unused until you arrive if you prefer — then enable Bayanat for cellular data and turn Data Roaming ON for that line.

Which phones support eSIM?

Most recent iPhones (XS and later), Google Pixel 3 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and many other flagship Android devices support eSIM. Check your device settings for "Add eSIM" or "Add cellular plan" — if you see it, you're good. When in doubt, contact support before you travel.

Do I need Wi‑Fi to set up?

Yes — you'll need a brief internet connection to download and install the eSIM profile. Home Wi‑Fi or airport Wi‑Fi works fine. After installation, your Bayanat plan provides mobile data on its own.

Can I enter the activation code manually?

Yes. In phone Settings choose manual / enter details and paste the SM-DP+ address and activation code from the Bayanat app (eSIM → Install / QR). Useful if the camera cannot scan the QR.

Roaming vs eSIM

How do I avoid roaming charges when traveling?

Buy a Bayanat eSIM for your destination (or a regional/global plan), install it before you fly, and use Bayanat for mobile data abroad. Critically: turn off data roaming on your primary/home SIM so your home carrier cannot bill roaming data. Keep the home SIM active only if you still want that number for calls and SMS.

Is an eSIM cheaper than carrier roaming?

Usually yes. Carrier roaming often charges high daily or per-MB rates. Bayanat sells prepaid local-network data with transparent USD prices — country bundles often start under a few dollars, with unlimited daily and LifeTime options depending on the destination. Compare live prices on bayanat.app/plans and each country page.

Should I turn off data roaming on my home SIM?

Yes. After your Bayanat eSIM is installed, set Bayanat as the line for cellular data and disable data roaming on your home line. That prevents surprise roaming bills while you still keep your number for calls/SMS if your dual-SIM phone allows it.

Can I keep my regular SIM active with Bayanat?

Yes. Bayanat is dual-SIM friendly. Keep your home SIM for calls and texts, and use Bayanat for data abroad. Turn off data roaming on your primary line to avoid surprise carrier charges.

Plans & billing

What is the difference between Unlimited, Bundle, and LifeTime plans?

Unlimited Daily: pay per day for unlimited data on supported networks (tiers may differ by full-speed fair use). Bundles: a fixed amount of GB for a fixed number of days on one country — best when you know roughly how much you'll use. LifeTime: buy GB once; unused data does not expire until you use it — ideal if you return to the same country. Regional and global passes cover multiple countries on one eSIM.

Which plan should I pick for a short trip?

For a weekend or week abroad with heavy maps, chat, and social use, Unlimited Daily is simplest. If you mainly need navigation and messaging, a small Bundle is usually the cheapest. If you visit the same country often, LifeTime can cost less over time.

Do you have eSIM plans for UAE, Turkey, Japan, USA, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand?

Yes. Bayanat offers destination plans for 190+ countries including the UAE, Türkiye, Japan, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand. Open Destinations on bayanat.app, pick your country, and compare Bundle, Unlimited, and LifeTime options with starting prices in USD.

When does my plan start?

Data bundles and unlimited plans typically activate when you first connect to a supported network at your destination. LifeTime plans stay on your device until you remove them — validity rules are shown in the app before purchase.

Can I top up or buy another plan?

Yes. Open the Bayanat app anytime to add data, extend an unlimited plan, or buy a new destination plan. Your existing eSIM profile is reused — no second QR scan needed.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards through Stripe. All payments are PCI-compliant. Prices are shown in USD in the app and on this site.

Can I get a refund?

Unused plans may be eligible for a refund within the window described in our Terms of Use. If you have trouble activating or your plan doesn't work as described, contact support@bayanat.app — we'll make it right.

Using your eSIM

What happens if I run out of data?

You'll get a notification in the app as you approach your limit. Top up instantly from the app — no new installation required.

Does Bayanat include calls and SMS?

Bayanat plans are data-only. Use WhatsApp, iMessage, FaceTime, or other data-based apps for calls and messages. Your regular SIM can still handle traditional calls and SMS if you keep it active.

Can I use a hotspot / tethering?

Set Bayanat as the mobile data line first, then enable Personal Hotspot (iPhone) or Hotspot & tethering (Android). Most Bayanat plans support hotspot where the partner network allows it. Guide: /how-to/hotspot/.

Does Bayanat support 5G?

Yes where partner networks offer 5G and your device supports it. Otherwise you connect on 4G/LTE. Coverage and speed vary by country and location — the same as any local SIM.

Which countries are covered?

Bayanat works in 190+ countries through local partner networks. Browse destinations on our site or in the app for country-specific plans and starting prices.

How do I switch between my home SIM and Bayanat for data?

iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → choose Bayanat (abroad) or your home line (at home). Android: Settings → SIMs → Mobile data → Bayanat. Keep calls/SMS on your home SIM if you want. Full guide: /how-to/switch-carriers/.

How do I check my remaining data?

Open the Bayanat app → My eSIMs → your plan for remaining GB, validity, and unlimited-day status. Phone Settings show approximate cellular stats; the app is the source of truth for prepaid balance. Guide: /how-to/check-usage/.

Where can I see supported carriers for my plan?

In the Bayanat app open your eSIM or plan details → Supported Carriers / Carriers. Use those names if you manually select a network. Guide: /how-to/supported-carriers/.

Troubleshooting

Stuck on “Activating…” after install

Force-restart your phone (hard restart). After reboot, open Cellular / SIMs — if Bayanat is listed, turn the line on and enable Data Roaming. A reboot does not delete the eSIM. Full guide: /how-to/troubleshooting/.

Phone says “Unable to Activate eSIM”

Check whether Bayanat already appears in your eSIM list — if yes, install succeeded; use that line instead of retrying. If not, open the Bayanat app and tap Install eSIM once more on stable Wi‑Fi.

I have a signal but no internet

Turn Data Roaming ON for the Bayanat line only, set Bayanat as the cellular data line, and turn Data Roaming OFF on your home SIM. Then toggle Airplane mode. See /how-to/data-roaming/.

How do I remove an eSIM from my iPhone?

Settings → Cellular → tap the Bayanat line → Delete eSIM / Remove Cellular Plan. Only remove it if you are sure — you may need support to reissue while a plan is still valid.

How do I check data usage?

Open the Bayanat app → your eSIM details for remaining data and validity. iOS also shows Cellular Data usage per line under Settings → Cellular.
